Visit to Hilton Head Island

We spent a few days with Grandma and Grandpa Scott at their home in Hilton Head. The kids loved visiting with Grandma and Grandpa, sharing a bedroom, playing by the water, and riding the elevator. Both of the kids hopped on the swing with Grandpa Scott a few minutes after we arrived. Posted by Picasa

One of the kids' favorite things to do was to sprint out to the gazebo and throw sticks and pine cones in the water. Posted by Picasa

Lauren loved sporting her two piece bathing suit. It really shows off her figure. Posted by Picasa

Brendan and Lauren made a beautiful mud castle on the beach. Posted by Picasa

Grandma and Grandpa Scott cheered Brendan on in the pool. Grandma convinced him to make "big splashes" with his feet. Unfortunately every time we cheered his "big splashes", he turned around to see them and stopped kicking. Posted by Picasa

As much as we tried to convince Lauren to join us in the pool, she was not interested. Posted by Picasa

This is a preview of our experience at church. Lauren was removed from Mass before the opening song. Posted by Picasa

While this was supposed to be a cute group shot, our darling daughter refused to join in the picture. Brendan loved his time at Grandma and Grandpa Scott's home. He told all of his friends that he rode an elevartor EVERY DAY he was in Hilton Head. Posted by Picasa

Brendan and Grandma Scott. Grandma taught Brendan about all of the different birds in the area. When we arrived home, every time we saw a bird at our feeder he told me, "We need to call Grandma Scott and tell her we saw a robin." Posted by Picasa

If you ask Brendan about his trip to Hilton Head, inevitably he will describe in great detail the hotel sleeping arrangements. He encouraged Lauren to jump out of her crib and play with him. When we turned out the lights in their room, we'd hear laughing and jumping. Posted by Picasa

Lauren can now climb out of her pack and play (and crib) in a matter of seconds. It's not pretty, but it's effective. Posted by Picasa

At the hotel, as a last resort Brian tried to trap Lauren in her pack and play. As this picture clearly shows, he was not succesful. She popped out of the cage like she was jumping out of a cake. Posted by Picasa
